Be great! But what is great? Everyone insists "to be" something. All society chase and search as if there's something to be found, while all that there is, is found in the Lord. Their intrinsic inclination "to be" anything is rooted in a need for appreciation and profound purpose. They presuppose that they are nouns, yet they are called beings; derivative of the verb "to be". In spite of popular sentiment, they are not ephemeral things in which a mortal defines their value. Yet so often they unconsciously entrust their worth for another to assess and evaluate. The Great "I AM" is their creator and have deemed them priceless. So much so that He sent His only-begotten son to lay down His life as ransom for mankind.
The Lord, who is a counselor through His Word, intends for man to be aware of the dangers of seeking acceptance and worth from a perishing world. Bitterly, mankind exhaust and enslave themselves to the thoughts and opinions of others which leaves them desperate, lonely and empty. Amid all this, God's love supply them of free-will choice while He patiently waits for them to choose Him. And waits some more...
And what about you? Do you know who you are? Do you know what God has created you "to be"? You, who God has fearfully and wonderfully made, were not given to this broken world to be deplorably subjugated by it rather you were given to bless it! It needs you but not for what you think. It needs you "to be" the Lord's! It needs you "to be" sent from the Father. It needs you "to be" light!
You don't need "to be" smart.
You don't need "to be" rich.
You don't need "to be" famous.
You don't need "to be" beautiful.
"You need "to be" mine!", says the Lord! "For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s." Romans 14:8 ESV If you have chosen the Lord, you have become a holy temple in which the Lord dwells. You are for His glory when in fact, this was established before the foundation of the world. According to His will and Word, He sovereignly accomplishes many things through you. Learn of this.
The Great "I Am" will speak through you.
The Great "I Am" will heal.
The Great "I Am" will prophesy.
The Great "I Am" will bless.
The Great "I Am" will build.
The Great "I Am" will restore.
Comparatively to His appeal to Abraham, I can almost hear the Lord exclaim, "Be mine and I will make of you greatness!"
