Onward Christian Soldier

Onward Christian Soldier

It's 2024, and God, the great author and finisher of our faith, is indeed doing a new thing! Year after year we intentionally make pledges, vows and commitments to frame a better life. Yet our weary hearts break. We experience loss. And we toil. Amid all this, it is easy to discount the promises of God and the assignment we've been entrusted with. Let's take a moment to spiritually align ourselves for the year ahead.

Sabbaths are essential because busyness halt, and we commune with God. Let's do that now. Find a peaceful place, if possible, and place your attention onto your Savior. Have you allowed the demands of life, which are many, trample over His time with you? Do you rush out the house every morning without prayer? Are you exhausted, burned out and merely existing? You must eat the manna and drink the living water the Lord provides. He is life and He is hope.

You are a part of a critical time period in earth's history. Focus is paramount. Let the record of Peter walking on water minister to you. Many things urge for our attention but this is not the time to be distracted. For the Lord's coming is near. Finish the race marked out for you and do not lose heart. Surrender and report to the Lord in prayer. Approach His throne. An assignment is on your life, which only you can carry out. With all you do day to day, have you carelessly neglected your purpose? Don't be so entangled in the world's affairs that you forget that the Lord's coming is near.

You may be thinking that this is all a lot; that the Lord requires more than you're capable of giving. You are right. It can be overwhelming to acknowledge the divine duties God has called us to; But only when we are trying to do it on our own. Remember His word and all that He has given to you. He promises to be with you until the end. Armor up. For the Lord has provided your victory. He has carried your cross. He has prepared a place for you. Dear child, hold on to your crown!

Here are 2024 marching orders:

  • Perseve
  • Endure 'til the end
  • Onward, Christian soldier!
