"Secure the bag!", is frequently announced among the youth of our day. Entertaining and fun to say but is that wisdom? Will laboring to store up capital secure your future? Among all that man enjoys acquiring and storing up, time is a resource that can not be obtained by a person's own efforts since it is outside of human control. It can't be bought, transferred, or created. It can only be managed and therefore it must be cautiously prioritized. Time is a limited resource. Most don't give attention to how quickly sin corrupts the soul. Essentially, time must be taken to examine consequences. Each person must take a deeper look at life so they don't miss what is truly important.
Notably, some things don't require much time. Sin, for example, takes little time to corrupt and destroy. For scripture states, "Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump?" 1 Corinthians 5:6 ESV This is something to seriously consider. Horrifying is the result and that is why we are urged not to harden our hearts if we hear His voice. “Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.” Hebrews 4:7B ESV Christ urgently comes to our rescue to lift us out of the lethal quicksand of sin which only He can do. But if His call is put off, we negligently risk destruction and are dissipated by sin. If we knew how dire our condition is, we wouldn't heedlessly put off salvation and use our time to pursue frivolous things that quickly fade. While society lade us with busyness and endless demands, Christ is calling us to redemption and eternal salvation. Pause and think about that!
You may have heard it said, "Time stands still for no one." Time moves exclusively in one direction. Regardless of who you are, what you do today affects your tomorrow. Choices, micro choices and major choices, lead to either glory or damnation. Ultimately, each choice is a decision between your will or God's will. Advancing to make a name for himself, most of mankind use their limited time striving towards fantasies and perishable trinkets which is pale in comparison to all that the Lord offers. As you journey through life, remember that the most important proposal on one's life is the call to choose whom he will serve. “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money." Matthew 6:24 ESV
"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me. And since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children." Hosea 4:6 ESV According to scripture, there will be a day when all things will be seen as they are which rapidly draws near. In a materialistic world that is extrinsically motivated, all deception and realities will be unveiled. Pursue truth in the person of Jesus Christ now. We need to know Him! He is true knowledge. All that is good and all that is of value can only be found in Him. Unfortunately, those who delay coming to Him will only be left with pain and regret.
This precious life is fleeting. While you can't go back to fix yesterday, you can examine the choices you currently are making. Without exception, if you're not careful of how you spend your time, you'll end up in remorse which can be avoided if you heed to God's Word. "For He says, 'In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.' Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation." 2 Corinthians 6:2 ESV Do not put off the Lord another day. Now is the time to choose Him! "For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?" Mark 8:36 ESV
